Prince Sultan bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Secretary General of the Higher Tourism Authority, said today that the touristy development authorities in different regions of the Kingdom, under formation by the HTA, will enjoy full powers for planning and implementing touristy development programs in each region. Following a meeting with the Chairman of the Eastern Region's Chamber of Commerce Abdulrahman bin Rashid Alrashid, members of the touristy development at the chamber and investors in the touristy sector in the Eastern Region, he said HTA gives priority to the Saudi tourist and investor, underlining the importance of family tourism in the HTA strategy. He said the entertaining sector has completely been Saudized and that HTA has reached agreements with 80 travel agencies on an 8-year long Saudization plan. He announced for 25 joint projects with the municipalities in the Kingdom, noting that HTA is studying 22 projects of touristy development in the Red Sea.
