Guy Gauvreau, Country Director of the World Food Programme (WFP) in Mauritania received here today the food assistance provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including 90 tons of dates with the presence of Hamad Al-Aqeel, Chargé D'affaires of the Saudi Embassy in Mauritania; Saad bin Abdulaziz Al-Senaidy, Representative of the Saudi Ministry of Finance and Mohamed Ould Mohamedou, Commissioner of Food Security in the Mauritanian Government. Gauvreau stressed that the Kingdom is among the most important donor countries for WFP, valuing the efforts of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and his continued humanitarian support in this regard. For his part, the Commissioner of Food Security in the Mauritanian Government expressed thanks to and appreciation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques for this food support, confirming that this food aid will alleviate the food shortage observed in a number of Mauritanian regions.
