The Saudi relief delegation, led by Ibrahim Al-Darweesh, held a meeting here today with senior officials of the Mauritanian government and international relief organizations at the headquarters of the Commission of Social Protection and Food Security. Following the meeting, the leader of the Saudi delegation told the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) that the meeting discussed the arrangements taken by the delegation to carry out the instructions of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, to provide prompt assistance for flood-stricken people in the Mauritanian city of Al-Taintan and the way of receiving, delivering and distributing the different relief items. He said the Saudi government would like to deal directly with international humanitarian organizations and get benefit of their experience in the field of dealing with such disasters and the distribution of relief items over the needy as soon as possible. The meeting was attended by the Saudi Charge d'Affaires to Mauritania Hamad Al-Aqeel.
