The authorities in Dagestan announced the legal regime of anti-terrorist operation south of the village of Gurbuki in the republic's Karabudakhent district, to neutralize a group of militants. The regime was introduced as of 04:00, Moscow time, on Wednesday. "A group of gunmen was detected during an operation in the area. Armored vehicles, army aviation and interior troops units are moving in," the press service of the regional department of the Federal Security Service (FSB) told Itar-Tass. In the morning of April 11, the anti-terrorist operation regime was introduced south of the village of Gubden, after police found a group of gunmen numbering six to eight members. Three contract servicemen of the interior troops were killed and another seven were wounded in shootouts with the gunmen. During a subsequent combing of the terrain, the bodies of two gunmen were found. Police also found a dig-out with a large amount of weapons and ammunition, a ready-to-use explosive device and two belts with strapped explosives for suicide bombers.
