German Chancellor Angela Merkel condemned and was "deeply shocked" by the attacks on central Baghdad, a spokeswoman said in Berlin Sunday. Merkel wished a speedy recovery to the injured and sent condolences to those who lost loved ones, dpa reported. She said she felt with the Iraqi people in their longing for an end to terrorist attacks. She would continue to support a peaceful, democratic future for Iraq.
