The 12th Conference of the International Energy Forum has expressed appreciation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its initiative to hold special meeting on energy called for by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in Jeddah in June 2008. This came in the Declaration of Cancun, which was announced in the conclusion of the conference here today. Cancun Declaration was approved by 66 countries, both the exporting and oil-producing countries including the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Eng. Ali Ibrahim Al-Naimi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources led the delegation of his country to the Conference. The Conference welcomed the forming of the supreme supervisory group under the presidency of Saudi Arabia to make recommendations to the 12th Conference of the International Energy Forum to strengthen the structure of dialogue between consumers and producers through the forum, and reduce the volatility in energy markets.
