Princess Adela bint Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, the Chairwoman of the board of directors of 'SANAD' Charitable Society for Supporting Sick Children, has urged all concerned authorities to shoulder their responsibility as regards the sick children and to provide SANAD Society with the required support. Princess Adela made these remarks today at the inaugural session of a conference on "Treatment of Children who are inflicted by Cancer Disease," now in progress in Riyadh. She called for establishing a center for taking care of children who have been treated for cancer disease, noting that such a center will extend specialist services through cooperation of the health and social institutions which are concerned with the betterment of children. On his part, Dr Mohammed Bakhsh, the supervisor of the program of King Abdulaziz Hospital and Tumors Center, said the organization of the conference aims at shedding light on the successes attained by the Kingdom in the field of treatment of children suffering from cancer. He noted that the program of treatment of childhood cancer does not only aim at the recovery of the patient but also following up the case of the patient after receiving the required medical treatment.
