based Al-Nadwah, in an editorial entitled 'Strategy of intellectual security', said the draft of the Arab strategy for intellectual security presented by the Kingdom at the 27th session of the Council of the Arab interior ministers, recently held in Tunis, was hailed by the Saudi Cabinet at its regular weekly meeting. The paper said "Second Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, who is also the Honorary President of the Council of the Arab interior ministers, briefed the cabinet on the outcome of the meeting of the Arab interior ministers," adding that the Arab strategy will positively contribute to enhancing the ongoing efforts for building an intellectual immunity against the deviant ideas and ideologies which threaten the joint Arab security. "The intellectual security is the base for creating a secured environment free from extremism and deviant ideas, because the intellectual security is concerned with moderation and protection of societies from extremist ideologies which pave the way for violence and subversive acts. It is high time for thinkers, literary men and Ulema (Islamic Scholars) to shoulder their responsibilities toward the awareness of the youth and rescuing them from woes of extreme ideas," said the daily. The daily believes that the strategy presented by the Kingdom comes in the light of a rich experience in the field of fighting terrorism. --MORE
