The Cabinet approved Monday the organizational structure of the newly-established King Abdullah International Center for Services to the Arabic Language, which it described as “founded to create a suitable environment for the development and reinforcement of the Arabic Language and to produce, unify and promote scientific, linguistic and literary terminology”. The Council also reiterated its praise for King Abdullah's “unlimited support for cultural activities in the Kingdom, evidenced in his patronage of the Janadriya National Culture and Heritage Festival and the International Prize for Translation”. Abdul Aziz Khoja, the Minister of Culture and Information, said in a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) that King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, chairing the weekly session, briefed members on his meetings and consultations of the past week with foreign leaders and envoys, after which Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, reviewed his inspection tour of the Armed Forces stationed at the southern borders in Jizan. The Cabinet was also briefed by Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, on the 27th session of the Arab Interior Ministers held in Tunisia, and expressed the hope that the Arab draft strategy on intellectual security put forward by the Kingdom would help “guard individuals and the Ummah against the deviant thought which threatens joint Arab security”.
