The Shoura Council held here today a session presided over by Deputy Chairman of the Council Dr. Bandar bin Mohammad Hajjar. In a statement following the session, Secretary General of the council Dr. Mohammad bin Abdullah Alghamdi said the council approved the kingdom's accession to the International Sugar Agreement. The council approved that the penalties adopted by the Unified Customs Regulation shall be applied by the concerned court without undermining any stricter penalty adopted by another regulation; that the Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution shall file lawsuits before the concerned courts in the cases of customs smuggling based on the Unified Customs Regulation; and that the sums of money resulting from fines, value of goods or transportation vehicles seized in sentences by a court specialized in the crimes of smuggling narcotics or intoxicants if seized by customs agents shall be treated in line with Unified Customs Regulation.
