The General Authority of Civil Aviation is currently executing 34 projects at a total cost of SR 2.5 billion in domestic airports along with SR 450 million for management, operation and maintenance of the airports annually. The Vice-President of Internal Airports Eng. Mohammed bin Hamid Al-Judaibi pointed out that the projects included the development, establishment and expansion of 23 domestic airports that serve about 9 million passengers per year. He noted that these projects have been supported and followed up by Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, who is also Chairman of the Authority's Board of Directors and Prince Fahd bin Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Musaed, Assistant Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General for Civil Aviation Affairs and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors.
