Terrorism Conference held in Riyadh in February 2005 highlighted one of the great efforts of the Kingdom in fighting this global scourge within an international framework. The Conference issued Riyadh Declaration stressing that terrorism poses a threat to world peace and security. Upon a call from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to create an international center for the exchange of information and experiences among countries and to create security and intelligence information and database, the Kingdom submitted a draft resolution to the UN General Assembly calling for the formation of a working group to study the Conference's recommendations and declaration including the establishment of an International Counter-Terrorism Center according to an announcement made by Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, in his speech before the UN General Assembly on September 16, 2005. --MORE
