Prince Saud said the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has proposed to the UN's Secretary General and to the governments of countries which participated in the international conference for combating terrorism, held in Riyadh, to try to obtain a resolution from the UN's General Assembly for adopting the Declaration of Riyadh pertaining to combating terrorism as well as the resolutions of the conference, notably the proposal of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz relating to the establishment of an international center for combating terrorism. 'The issuance of such a resolution will enhance the ongoing international efforts for fighting terrorism, and will boost the international organizations, like the UN's Committee for Combating Terrorism and the Interpol, ', he said adding that such a development will make it possible to exchange information by the national and regional centers, and will further more impede the movements of terrorists and their organizations. Prince Saud made it clear that the proposed international center for combating terrorism aims at deepening understanding of the roots of this phenomenon, and subsequently it will help to considering means of its tackling and containment.
