Prince Nawaf bin Faisal bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, Deputy President of Youth Welfare of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Deputy Chairman of the Saudi Olympic Committee, was today re-elected unanimously as member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC)for the next 8-year term during elections held here at the 122nd session of the world football body. In a statement following the elections, Prince Nawaf bin Faisal thanked the committee members for their confidence in His Royal Highness, also conveying his thanks to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz; Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General; Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior; and Prince Sultan bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, the President of Youth Welfare and Chairman of the Saudi Olympic Committee, for their support and encouragement. In a key address, Dr. Jacques Rogue, President of the IOC, lauded the role played by Prince Nawaf during his expiring term as an active and aggressive member of the IOC who is also a sample of an ideal sports leader.
