Dr. Abdulaziz Mohieddin Khoja, the Minister of Culture and Information signed here today the new Saudi Press Agency headquarters and Information Center in Al Sahafa Borough, costing SR 80,594,710 with the KHALEEJ Al OWLA Contracting Ltd. The Project, to be spread over on an area of 10,000 cm, will be implemented in a period of 24 months period. It will be a ten-storey high building and include a basement and a 3-storey Information Center and an Auditorium that can accommodate more than 400 persons. It will also have Radio and Television Studios, scheduled for implementation at a later date. Other glaring features of the project is a permanent Exhibition Hall and a Library. The building will have annexes like Warehouses, Electricity Power Station, Parking areas as well as fences, landscaping areas and internal roads. It will also have an annex comprising Guards Building. On completion of the project, it will be a landmark in the city of Riyadh. All its design, aesthetics and location on King Fahd Road have been taken into consideration. In addition, environmental factors, and the solar thermal storage to harness Sun-heat are also incorporated in the execution of the project. The information center, will be comprised of an Auditorium in the shape of the Globe with an actual Map of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in its outer surface. --MORE
