A 26-storey Media Tower will be built in Islamabad to provide state of the art facilities to media, information technology and telecommunication companies. Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz gave approval to the plan Saturday, according to an official statement. "The Media Tower Islamabad will promote media as an industry to realize its growth potential and contribute to forming a better global image of the country," the prime minister said. Information Secretary Shahid Rafi in his presentation about the salient features of the building informed the Prime Minister that the Media Tower will be a 26-storey building located in Blue Area, Islamabad and will be completed in thirty six months. The building will have all the facilities required by media, IT and telecom companies to set up their businesses in a cost effective manner. Rafi said Media Tower Islamabad will have TV & Radio Studios, Technical Areas, Auditoriums, Conference Halls, Seminar Rooms, Corporate Offices, Government Offices, Business Centers, IT Centres, Cafes, Call Centers, Hospitality Areas, Warehouse, Commercial and Retail Spaces.
