Ismail Obaid Al Ali, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to South Africa and Gerrit Van Rensburg, the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of South Africa held talks today on the potential of boosting cooperation between the UAE and South Africa in various fields, especially in development and agriculture. The UAE Ambassador affirmed the importance of exchanging expertise and experiences and strengthening the channels of communication and visits of delegations of the two countries in order to achieve mutual objectives and interests, according to a report of the UAE news agency "WAM". For his part, the South African Minister expressed his interest in developing relations between Western Cape Province and the UAE in the field of agriculture and rural development through investment and joint ventures. Meanwhile, the UAE Ambassador also met Donald Grant, the South African Minister of Education and reviewed with him the prospects of developing bilateral cooperation in the field of education. The ambassador presented an integrated vision on the process of education in the UAE as it is considered a fundamental pillar of sustainable development and a tool for enhancing prosperity and progress in the society. The two sides also discussed arrangements for the scheduled visit of the South African Minister of Education to the UAE soon, while Al Ali hoped that the visit will contribute in boosting bilateral relations.
