The visiting Bahraini Parliament Speaker Khalifa al-Dhahrani conferred on Sunday with Iran"s Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani on expansion of mutual relations and cooperation. According to the Information and Press Bureau of Majlis, at the meeting, the two sides were of the view that expansion of mutual cooperation would help attain common goals. At the end of the meeting, the two sides issued a joint statement on expansion of mutual economic, commercial, security and parliamentary cooperation to meet the two sides" interests, IRNA reported. Expansion of bilateral ties and cooperation between the two countries will lead to restoration of peace and tranquility in the region as well as in the world. The International community is very annoyed by the crimes and atrocities of the Zionist regime, said the statement. Iran and Bahrain call on the international community to intervene to put an end to the siege of Gaza as soon as possible, read the statement. On Iraq's developments, the statement called for active participation and cooperation of all Iraqi groups and also backed the efforts of the Iraqi government to restore security, tranquility and national solidarity to Iraq. The two sides also underlined that it is among the legitimate rights of all nations to make use of peaceful nuclear technology based on international rules and regulations and called for a Middle East free from weapons of mass destruction. At the end of the meeting, the Bahraini parliamentary delegation extended an official invitation to the Iranian Majlis speaker to pay an official visit to Bahrain.
