The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, has called for the performance of Istisqa (rain-seeking) prayers all over the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Monday, January 11, 2010 A.D corresponding to Muharram 25, 1431 A.H according to Umm Al-Qura calendar, as rain season is delayed, said a statement issued by the Royal Court here today. The statement urged Muslims in the Kingdom to take part in the prayers, usually performed early morning during such drought according to the instructions of Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him). -- SPA
