Mushcab will be responsible for developing, assessing and maintaining strategic direction affecting the members and operations of IEEE geographical units. Al-Mushcab has more than 23 years of experience in IT at Saudi Aramco. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Tennessee State University and King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, respectively. IEEE is the largest technical society in the world, with more than 375,000 members worldwide. It has more than 40 technical societies specializing in various disciplines, more than 300 conferences a year and more than 400 standards under development. It publishes about 30 percent of world technical literature in electrical and electronics engineering and computer science annually.
