Turki, Secretary General of the Muslim World League (MWL), said Muslims of today are graced by the foundation more than 70 years ago of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on the bases and pillars of Islam and its, since, shouldering the responsibility of serving the two holy mosques and their pilgrims. He congratulated the monarch, his Crown Prince and the Second Deputy Premier, in the name of the MWL, on the success of this year"s Hajj. He also conveyed the thanks of all Muslims from all parts of the world to the King and the Saudi Hajj authorities for the services rendered to them to make their tough journey and easy and comfortable one, citing the recent giant projects at the holy places. He said that the monarch has taken the initiative to call for dialogue among religions, cultures and civilizations and successfully convened or co-sponsored a number of conferences from Makkah to Madrid to New York. Al-Turki considered the establishment of King Abdullah University for Science and Technology a qualitative leap at the domestic and international levels, given its state-of-the-art equipment, academic staff and facilities. --More
