The international conference to mark the 50th anniversary of the Makkah-based Muslim World League (MWL) concluded here today. Participants from all over the world expressed appreciation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the support he rendered to MWL, the service of Islam and Muslims and the entire world. They also extended their thanks to Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, and Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, for the support they offered to MWL. They thanked Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Governor of Makkah Region, for the facilities he extended to MWL, wishing the Saudi leadership and senior officials every success and their country progress and prosperity. They lauded the MWL's qualitative progress, citing its adoption of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques initiative for civilization dialogue with which Islam became more understandable to the world. The conference called for the establishment of an international training institute for callers, Imams and Muftis in the countries with Muslim minorities. The participants lauded the MWL's regional and international activities, citing its contribution to regional and international conferences, symposia, committees and initiatives. However, the most prominent achievement of MWL was its endeavor to successfully portray the correct profile of Islam to non-Muslim world, the statement said, adding that the league has successfully also fought the cultures of extremism and terrorism. --More
