The Arab Gulf Program for United Nations Developmental Organizations (AGFUND) has stressed that national societies particularly women ones, could take part in development along with the government, if there is an appropriate environment for them. AGFUND headed by Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz has said, "The role required from national societies lies in providing leaderships awareness of the roles of societies and the reform being carried out by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz." The Program has held recently a developmental workshop in Qassim during a meeting of women national societies. It is noteworthy that AGFUND has established partnerships with organizations of civil society including national societies and financed their projects. In its cooperation with national societies in the Arab world, it has contributed to financing more than 300 projects as well as 41 projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
