Mrs. Anna Maria Bligh, the state Premier of Queensland, Australia, today held a meeting with Dr. Saeed Mohamed Al Shamsi, the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Australia and discussed ways of strengthening bilateral relations in various fields. The Premier of Queensland praised the UAE"s modern development and highlighted the care given to women development programs, according to a report of the UAE news agency "WAM". Mrs. Anna said that a trade and representative office of Queensland was opened recently in Abu Dhabi and she cited her latest official visit to the UAE saying that it was a success. She also mentioned the agreement of joint cooperation between Queensland and Abu Dhabi which aims to achieving economic and social development for both sides. --SPA
