With the participation of a delegation from the Shoura Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia headed by the Secretary General of the Council, Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Ghamdi and 153 parliaments of various countries all over the world, the 121st general meeting of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) concluded its activity here today. Upon conclusion, the meeting adopted the emergency item submitted by Uganda on behalf of the African Group on the parliamentary action to achieve the world food security and also re-nominated Anders Johnson, the General Secretary of the IPU Council for the next four years after wining a majority of votes. At the open international symposium held today by the IPU on the fight against AIDS globally, Dr. Maha Al-Maneef, adviser to the Saudi Shoura Council delivered a speech in which she manifested the efforts of the Kingdom in the fight against the disease of AIDS.
