The sixth conference of the Islamic culture ministers, which is currently in progress here, has approved the report submitted by Dr Abdulaziz al-Tuweijiri, the director general of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) on the cultural strategy in the Muslim world. The conference assigned ISESCO to go ahead on the path of implementing the strategy in coordination with the secretariat general of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) and in cooperation with the member states and the concerned regional and international organizations. The conference urged the member states to allocate financial resources for financing the cultural projects pertaining to the cultural strategy. The conference hailed the significant role of the OIC as regards cultural development in the Muslim world. Meanwhile, the conference urged ISESCO's director general to continue in convening conferences, seminars and workshops in the various cultural domains notably on issues that tackle the problems of cultural heritage, encourage literary innovation and enhance dialogue and cultural diversification.
