Director general of the Islamic, educational, scientific and cultural organization (ISESCO) Dr Abdulaziz al-Tuweijiri has announced the support of ISESCO to nomination of Tangier, North Morocco, for hosting the international exhibition for 2012. A statement issued by ISESCO yesterday said the nomination of Tangier was inserted in the agenda of the seventh coordination meeting for heads of the delegations of the OIC's member states, who are scheduled to participate in the 34th session of the UNESCO, due to be held on Oct 16, 20007. Dr al-Tuweijiri pointed out that Tangier has a historical significance in addition to the fact that it was the birthplace of the famous traveler, Ibn Batouta. Morocco, which is great in its past and present, is the most suitable place for convening this international exhibition', he said adding that the organization of the show will provide a good opportunity to project Islam in its proper manner.
