All the twelve fields of study of the Faculty of Engineering of the Jeddah-based King Abdulaziz University have recently received the International Academic Accreditation of the US Academic Accreditation Commission for Engineering and Technology (ABET), the first recognition in its kind for a Saudi university. These specializations are "Aeronautical Engineering", "Chemical Engineering", "Materials Engineering", "Civil Engineering", "Computer Engineering", "Electrical Engineering (Electronics and Communications)", "Electrical Engineering (Power and Machines)", "Electrical Engineering (Medical Engineering)", "Industrial Engineering", "Mining Engineering", "Mechanical Engineering (Production Engineering and Designing of Mechanical Systems)", "Mechanical Engineering (Thermal Engineering and Water Desalination Technology)" and Nuclear Engineering. On this occasion, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Dr. Faisal bin Ibrahim Iskandrani said that this achievement is a proof that the Faculty of Engineering is keen on presenting a teaching of engineering in accordance with the international standards of quality.
