The Secretary General of OIC Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu has noted, with satisfaction, the achievements of the Islamic Centre for Development of Trade (ICDT) in the area of facilitation and expansion of trade among OIC Member States. In his message to the 26th Ordinary Session of the Board of Directors of ICDT, held in Casablanca, Morocco from 29-30 September 2009, the Secretary-General observed that the successful follow-up of the programmes and projects aimed at fast-tracking trade exchanges within the OIC was due to the diligence of members of ICDT Board of Directors and its management. Pledging his continued support to the ICDT towards realization of the developmental objectives enunciated in the OIC Ten-Year Programme of Action, Professor Ihsanoglu urged the management of ICDT to concert efforts with other OIC agencies to sustain, and improve upon, the progress so far realized. The message of the Secretary-General was delivered at the session by Ambassador Hameed A. Opeloyeru, Assistant-Secretary-General of OIC for Economic Affairs, who participated in the two-day session.
