Poland's Defense Ministry says a Polish soldier has been killed and five others wounded by a roadside bomb in eastern Afghanistan, reported ap. The ministry said in a statement on Saturday that platoon leader Marcin Poreba was killed late Friday when a bomb exploded under the armored vehicle in which he and five other soldiers were traveling. The ministry says the injured soldiers have been hospitalized, one of them in serious condition. Poreba is the 11th Polish soldier killed in Afghanistan since March 2002. Last month, the head of Poland's land forces resigned after accusing the government of Prime Minister Donald Tusk of having failed to properly equip Poland's 2,000-strong Afghanistan contingent.
