A total of six people died in a road accident Tuesday in north China's Heilongjiang Province, Xinhua quoted a spokesman with the province's traffic police as saying. A bus collided with a van at a crossroad on a road that links Beian Land Reclamation District and Hailun City in Heilongjiang, killing four people in the bus and a married couple in the van, said an officer surnamed Li. The husband was driving the van, a small vehicle for carrying crops, with his wife by the side when the accident occurred, said Li. The truck driver and his wife, who was also on the bus, are being held by the police for inquiries, said Li. The collision injured another ten people who were sent to hospital, said Li. A total of four people suffered fractures and the other six had only minor injuries, according to a doctor surnamed Dong at the hospital. The 28-seat bus was carrying at least 22 people, Li said. The police are investigating the cause of the accident.
