Border Guard officials foiled an attempt today by smugglers to cross the Saudi-Yemeni border with over 30 kilos of marijuana. The drug traffickers, who were trying to smuggle the illegal substance into the Kingdom, were ambushed by Border Guard officials stationed near the mountainous borderline. According to General Mohammed Al Zahrani, the director of Najran Border Guard, the Border Guard personnel were engaged in a fire exchange with the smugglers resulting in the confiscation of the 30 kilos of marijuana in their possession. -- SPA
