The Assistant Undersecretary of Ministry of Culture and Information for Internal Information Abdulrahman Al-Hazza met here on Tuesday evening with a number of owners and officials of electronic newspapers in light of a royal directive on meeting and consulting with them on the mechanisms of the qualitative regulation of their works. The meeting came in preparation for a meeting of a committee formed for studying the issue of electronic newspapers, comprising of Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Culture and Information, Communications and Information Technology Authority, and King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology. During the meeting, Al-Hazza stressed the keenness of Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja and his Assistant on contacting with electronic newspapers and providing them with necessary facilities to work in a regulatory environment that ensures the freedom of movement and dealing with news as well as free and credible verification. On his part, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Melhem, Assistant Undersecretary of Ministry of Culture and Information for Planning and Studies, General Supervisor of Information Technology and Chairman of Arab Committee for Electronic Publishing, emphasized the importance of organizing electronic publishing in modern civil societies to prevent any abusive practices that may occur against the religion, the homeland and the leadership.
