Dr. Abdulaziz bin Sultan Al-Melhem, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture and Information for Planning and Studies and Supervisor of Information Technology Department at the Ministry, today highlighted the Saudi participation in the recently-concluded Arab Electronic Media Meeting in Cairo, saying that Saudi Arabia has presented a working paper titled "Towards a Unified Arab Body for Electronic Information". In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency, Al-Melhem said the aim of the participation of the Ministry of Culture and Information in the event is to highlight the need for creating such organizations in Arab countries, particularly in the field of journalism and electronic information as mass media has shifted to individual media, putting great burdens on the Arab citizen who practices receiving information and news from different sources leaving him confused in terms of reliability and authenticity.
