The Islamic Development Bank (IDB) has organized a seminar on the role of the contractors in the Muslim countries as regards implementing projects financed by the IDB. Speaking on the occasion, IDB's President Dr Ahmad Mohammed Ali underlined the significance of developing infrastructure projects in the IDB's member states. He noted that the sector of transport and communications constituted in the last five years 29 percent of the projects in which the IDB had contributed to their financing. He pointed out that the IDB had contributed to financing more than 230 road projects with more than $3 billion. It is worth mentioning that the IDB has played a crucial role as regards the establishment of the union of the contractors in the Muslim countries.
