The Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Abdul Rahman bin Hamad Al-Atiyyah has highly evaluated the humanitarian and fraternal support that the State of Qatar has provided to workers and poor families in Gaza during the month of Ramadan. In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the GCC Secretary General stressed that Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani's donation of $10 million to the people of Gaza on the occasion of the Holy month matches Qatar's constant positions in favor of the Palestinian cause. "It reflects as well Qatar's practical policy which translates words into deeds, in particular with regard to the persistence and continued forms of support to the brotherly Palestinian people," Al-Atiyyah said. Such a Qatari leadership's donation would contribute to alleviate the suffering of the needy families in the Gaza Strip and to help them satisfy their daily requirements in light of the unjust Israeli siege, Al-Atiyyah noted. Concluding, the GCC Secretary General said the Emir's support to the Palestinian during the holy month also reflected the dimensions of the positive stance of the GCC states which have never abandoned the support of the Palestinian just cause.
