UN Secretary General urges Afghans to vote

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon late Tuesday encouraged all Afghans to cast their ballot in the Presidential and Provincial Council elections this Thursday, his press office said in a statement quoted by Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
Ban noted that, by participating in these elections, the Afghan people will help their country "strengthen its democratic institutions, bring fresh vigor to the country's political life, and ultimately reaffirm their commitment to contribute to the peace and prosperity of their nation."
