Russian media say two jet fighters have collided while rehearsing for a major air show outside of Moscow, and both pilots parachuted to safety. The ITAR-Tass news agency says the Su-27 fighters were part of the elite air force flying group, Russian Knights. Interfax and ITAR-Tass said both pilots appeared to have ejected and parachuted safely to the ground. NTV broadcast on Sunday footage of smoke rising from the fields near the Zhukovo air field, just north of Moscow. The MAKS-2009 air show _ Russia's largest and most important exhibition for the aerospace industry _ opens in two days.
