Saudi newspapers commented editorially today on a number of topics including the health care of citizens, expatriates and pilgrims. The Makkah-based Al-Nadwa lauded the great attention being given by Saudi officials to the health of the citizens and residents as well as visitors. It noted that royal directives have been issued to mobilize all potentialities for the service of the visitors, pilgrims and Umrah (minor hajj) performers. Every year the Kingdom mobilizes its potentialities for the service of the pilgrims and Umrah performers, said the daily. During the spread of the Bird Flu earlier, the Kingdom had done its best protect the people from its menace and it is doing the same with swine flu which is about to be turned into an epidemic, the paper noted. The paper said the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz has issued his instructions to take the precautionary measures for hosting the pilgrims and Umrah performers so as to protect the pilgrims and Umrah performers from the swine flu in Makkah and Madinah regions. This year's Hajj season, as is the case every year, will be under the authentic and expert health observance and preventive measures, it added. --MORE
