The Minister of Health Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabia will patronize in Jeddah on Saturday a Workshop on Preventive and Precautionary Measures for Hajj and Umrah Seasons scheduled to be held by the Ministry of Health in light of the outbreak of swine flu worldwide. The workshop comes in implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud emphasizing the importance of enhancing all precautionary and preventive measures to host pilgrims and Umrah performers and taking care of preventing them from all diseases as well as taking all necessary precautions against swine flu disease in Makkah and Madinah regions in Hajj and Umrah seasons this year. The official spokesman of the Ministry of Health Dr. Khalid Mohammed Marghlani pointed out that the ministry has completed preparations for hosting more than 50 scientists and experts in the field of viruses, infectious diseases and diseases of influenza from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and abroad. He noted that the Minister of Health has directed to form a Scientific Committee of Preventive Medicine for Hajj and Umrah, headed by Assistant Undersecretary of Ministry for Preventive Medicine who presided over its 1st session.
