'Al-Ekhbariah' TV Channel will launch next Saturday a number of new programs within the framework of the channel's phased-plans for development to meet the desires of viewers for development and modernization of styles of presentation in television transmission in general and Al-Ekhbariah channel in particular. "These (new programs) will also reflects the Channel's continuing concern with local affairs and events in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and around the rest of the world". In a statement to Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Minister of Culture and Information, Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja said that this phase of change of news and programs on the channel represents an important step that will be followed by a comprehensive developmental phase of the Channel's identity and its form as well as the contents of news and programs, which are being finalized. Dr. Khoja pointed out that the goal lies in informing citizens on developments and achievements in all regions and affirms the keenness of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and the Second Deputy Premier on upgrading Saudi media organs to keep abreast of the comprehensive developments witnessed by the Kingdom in all fields. He said that the overall development of the channel and other television channels will include technical and technological development as well as investment in the national youth through continuous training, adding that the channel will allocate more than five hours per day of its transmission for a program concerned with following up stocks, bonds and securities markets as well as Arab and international markets and all economic aspects that link citizens with their national television and achieve their aspirations.
