The Geological Survey reported that the national network stations for monitoring seismic tremors have recorded two earthquakes ranging between 3.0 and 3.5 degrees on Richter scale in Harah Al-Shaqah at a depth between 5.5 to 9.5 km since Wednesday noon until Thursday noon in addition to dozens of earthquakes less than 3 degrees. The Survey reassured citizens that news reported in some local newspapers today indicating an imminent volcanic eruption is a wrong interpretation by some journalists of the Survey's statement issued on Wednesday, noting that such press statements cause fear and panic among citizens.
