Prof. Ziad Hamzah Abu-Ghararah, the Secretary General of the Regional Inter-governmental Organization for the Conservation of Red Sea and the Gulf of Eden (PERSGA) opened here today a regional training workshop on “Environmental Education.” The workshop is jointly organized by PERSGA and GCC with the aim of improving national capacities and promoting exchange of information and experience between specialists in the two neighboring regions. Around 30 specialists from PERSGA and GCC countries are participating in this training workshop, which puts together the regional shared vision in realizing the role of environmental education as an effective tool in developing environmental concept and awareness, taking into consideration the ever increasing impacts of human activities on the environment. --MORE
