Minister of Social Affairs Dr. Yousuf Ahmed Al Othaimeen announced here last night the establishment of the First joint women Cooperatives Society in Al Qassim Province. The Minister made the announcement during the opening ceremony of the Joint Cooperatives Meeting held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdul-Aziz. The theme of the meeting is "A better cooperative work." In an address at the conference, the Minister said that Cooperative societies will serve as sub-channels for the government in order to achieve prosperity and community well-being with the application of the real understanding of cooperative movement. The collaborative work is one of the high Islamic values as well as reflects concepts of high-cultural societies that aspire to achieve and implement the utmost for the benefit of communities, he added. He considered the joint cooperative projects as socially and economically beneficial to citizens with the ample provision of consumer goods and services at affordable prices and making them accessible to everyone. He also affirmed that the joint Cooperatives receive direct support of the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and the Crown Prince.
