Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, Emir of Riyadh Region, has praised the active role played by former Minister of Social Affairs Abdulmohsin Bin Abdul Aziz Al-Akkas in the development of the Saudi society. Describing Al-Akkas as an old friend, the Emir highlighted his cooperation in fulfilling all tasks assigned to him. Referring to the new Minister of Social Affairs Dr. Yousuf Bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen, Prince Salman hoped that cooperation would continue with him in all his assigned works in future. Addressing the gathering, Prince Salman said King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and Crown Prince Sultan want Saudi citizens to live in peace, cohesion and harmony. Later, Prince Salman handed over a memorial gift to Al-Akkas. The function was attended by Dr. Saleh Bin Humaid, Chairman of the Shoura (Consultative) Council, and a number of princes and senior officials. Dr. Al-Othaimeen praised the achievements of Prince Salman and sais concern for the needy people, orphans and the disabled is the Emir's top priority. He also lauded the efforts of Al-Akkas in taking care of the needy people sponsored by the ministry. Al-Akkas thanked the leadership for honoring him with public service and for approving his request to be relieved from his post. __
