The Egyptian Minister of Electricity and Energy Hassan Younis has said that tenders submitted by two world companies are being currently assessed to provide advisory services for the design tasks of Electricity Grid Linkage Project between Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Egypt. In a statement published in Cairo today, he said that the project represents an important step after technical and economic feasibility studies have proved its benefits for development plans of the two countries, noting that the project with exchanging capacity of 3000 mw in its second phase will be operational in 2012.
