Presided over by its Chairman Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Asheikh, the Shoura Council held today its 24th session. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Council's Secretary General Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Ghamdi said that the Council completed discussions of the report proposed by the Committee for Education Affairs and Scientific Research regarding the annual report of King Abdulaziz City for Sciences and Technology for the fiscal year 1427/1428H. Dr. Al Ghamdi added that the Council took a majority vote in favor of the report with the following recommendations: First: future reports must include a detailed account of the city's achievements including the National Plan for Sciences and Technology, projects, programs, timetables, budgets as well as obstacles. Second: reports must include information as to how research papers and studies conducted by the city are used and benefited from. Al Ghamdi also added that the Council discussed the report proposed by the Committee fro Security Affairs regarding the signed memorandum of understanding between the Kingdom and South Africa. The Council approved by majority vote that it be elevated to the level of an agreement of military cooperation. He also added that the Council discussed a proposal by the Committee for Energy and Economic Affairs recommending that a number of amendments be made in the Mortgage System. The Council recommended that it be held for further discussions.
