Five people were killed in a landslide that damaged a block of flats in northwest China's Gansu Province, rescuers are searching for two missing people, Xinhua reported today. The landslide happened on Saturday afternoon, when 20,000 cubic meters of soil collapsed on part of the building. More than 30 households were affected. By Sunday evening, bodies of five residents were pulled out of the debris. Two residents, both elderly people living on the first floor, were still missing. More than 500 armed police and firefighters were involved in the search, but rescuers said chances of the missing's survival were slim. Several other cracks of about 20 to 30 centimeters long were spotted on the hill and rescuers said another landslide is possible.
