The Director-General of Passports, Major General Salim bin Mohammed AlBulaihed launched here last night a new electronic service provided by the General Directorate of Passports for the issuance of Resident Visas through SMS. The Major-General Salim AlBulaihed pointed out that the service is one of the most advanced technical services in E-Government implementation which allows citizens and residents to process exit re-entry visas through SMS following pre-registration in the service of "ISHAAR" at regional passport departments. The General Directorate of Passports is working on implementing provision of electronic forms for all its services. The Electronic full-service is for exist and re-entry visa, multiple visa, final exit visa, extended visa and visa cancellation for companies and institutions only and the application of other electronic services for the individual will be implemented in the near future, he added.
