A landslide has killed three illegal gold miners at the Gunung Halimun Salak National Park in Lebak district, Banten province, ANTARA reported. "The bodies of the three have been taken by their relatives to their home town for burial," the chief of the Bitung non-governmental organization's advocacy, Musa Weliansyah, said on Monday. He said the landslide occurred when they were digging a 15-meter deep hole to mine gold. "It is likely they were buried alive and local residents evacuated them after finding their bodies," he said. Meanwhile, the Lebak police precinct could not confirm the death of the three illegal gold miners. "Our men are now at the scene to check the truth of the landslide which claimed lives," the chief of the police precinct's detective and criminal unit said.
